Asia-Pacific colorectal cancer screening tests comprise a combination of stool-based assays, endoscopic procedures, and emerging molecular diagnostic tools aimed at early detection and prevention of colorectal cancer. Stool-based tests, such as the fecal immunochemical test (FIT) and the traditional guaiac-based fecal occult blood test (FOBT), are widely used to detect occult blood in asymptomatic individuals. Endoscopic methods, including colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy, allow direct visualization and removal of precancerous polyps. In recent years, advanced molecular approaches, including stool-DNA assays and risk-stratification models like the Asia-Pacific Colorectal Screening (APCS) score, have begun to complement traditional methods, providing higher sensitivity and enabling targeted screening strategies.
